Bring your winter climbing skills to the next level in North Conway!
A two-day course for experienced mountaineers ready to make the jump to committing and lightweight ascents of alpine snow, ice and mixed climbs. A technical climb of Mount Washington (weather permitting) combined with a technical descent will be the focus of this strenuous test of skill, efficiency and strength. The White Mountains offer some of the finest mountaineering terrain in the country and provide a reliable training ground for alpine climbs in the greater mountain ranges of the world. We will cover advanced snow, rock and ice anchor/belay systems while utilizing a minimum amount of gear. Other topics include time management, rope management, route finding, avalanche hazard awareness, and packing efficiently and lightly. Registration for this course should be made by private arrangement. We can tailor a program to fit your level of experience and plans for the future. An overnight is optional with this.
